GoAML Help

Before you begin the online registration process, ensure you have the following ready:

A scanned copy of the identity document of the user who will be doing the online registration
A scanned copy of a letter from your organisation on a formal letterhead which grants the user the authorisation to register the organisation, and to register as a user
Your organisation’s group e-mail address e.g. info@business.co.za.

Advice to web users on using goAML:
Add the goAML URL to your trusted sites
Enable pop ups
Add goAML to favourites or bookmarked pages for easy accessibility
Run goAML with Firefox, Google Chrome.
goAML works best with Google Chrome. Please note: the system does not work with Safari.

Guidance on registering on goAML:
Organisations are required to register on the goAML platform to be allocated an organisational identity (Org ID) number. The Org ID serves as the unique identifier for registrants. Once assigned the ORG ID further users from the individual organisation can register for purposes of reporting on the goAML system. .
The individual who registers the organisation on the goAML system is regarded as a super user. Where it is an entity that is registering, this is likely to be the organisation’s compliance officer – i.e. the main contact person for the goAML system.
An organisation may authorise more than one employee to submit reports to the FIC. In these instances, all the users must obtain the Org ID from their company’s compliance officer or super user. The other users referred to as money laundering reporting officers (MLROs) must use this Org ID when registering on the goAML system.
No duplicates are allowed for the “User Name” field
Password fields are case sensitive, Alpha, Alphanumeric, numeric and characters e.g. Test12345!
Contact details provided at registration for the entity and users must be the business contact details.
Non-South African identity number refers to a passport, foreign ID, permit, refugee or residence number.
When a compliance officer or super user registers their organisation, they must provide a group e-mail address (e.g. info@goamlabc.co.za), a copy of their letter of appointment as a compliance officer and a copy of their identity document.
Once registration is completed and submitted via goAML, users will receive a response e-mail advising them that the registration form has been received and whether it has been approved or rejected.

The response e-mail will include a reference number which must be used should one wish to contact the FIC for further information. Queries can be logged to FIC using the following options:

Guidance for an individual who wishes to file a report but, who is not linked to an organisation
Where an individual who has no legal obligation to register with the FIC wishes to file a report. They will nonetheless have to register with the FIC before they will be able to file a report.

They will need to select “Individual User” check box to register on the goAML system.
Once the user’s registration has been authenticated by the FIC, they will obtain login credentials via the e-mail address used during registration. The login credential must be used to file a report.
